The Flow Control Group supply a complete range of Control Valves for a wide range of applications in the water, wastewater, oil and gas and industrial process sectors.

The specification and selection of a valve and its operating protocols is essential to the optimum performance of any valve. The Flow Control team have the knowledge and expertise to identify the correct valve for the desired application.

Control valves form part of our customized solutions for the pressure control, regulation and surge prevention of pressurized systems.

Control Valves are used as the final control element in a closed control loop system. The control valve manipulates a flowing fluid, such as gas, steam, water, or chemical compounds to compensate for the load disturbance and keeps the regulated process variable as close as possible to the desired set point.

The most common valves for controlling pressure include relief, reducing, sequence, counterbalance, and unloading valves.

The most common types of pressure control valves are the pressure relief valve and the pressure reducing valve. Pressure relief valves control the system pressure by relieving part, or all, of the flow to tank. Pressure reducing valves reduce the pressure supplied to a sub-system of a hydraulic system. Sequence valves are used to direct the flow to a secondary circuit. Unloading valves are used to direct flow to tank at pre-set system pressure.

The Flow Control Group utilises control valves as part of its network management process, which is designed to optimise network performance, reduce leakage and save operating costs. We can carry out network assessments and modelling and using test rigs can demonstrate improvements in the flow control characteristics of a network. Using a network cell structure, we are also able to guarantee flow to all areas of a network even in the harshest environment.
