Flap valves are primarily used for surface water drainage to prevent reverse flow. They are installed on rivers, estuaries and seawater outfalls.
Flap valves can also be used on final effluent outfalls for sewage treatment plant to prevent flood damage within the works.
Flap valve application on sea water outfalls should be given careful consideration due to turbulence of flow across the flap, particularly when severe wave action is involved, resulting in dislocation of the flap relative to its seals.
Flap valves can be supplied for wall, flange or thimble mounting applications. We can supply both single door type and double door valves.
Materials of construction include Ductile Iron, Stainless Steel, Duplex, and HDPE

| Specification Ductile Iron | Frames shall be formed from ductile iron. The minimum grade for the iron will be BS1452-BSEN 1561 GJL 250. The frames will be suitable for grouting and bolting to vertical walls and fixing to flanged pipes with a % of fixing holes in a PN16 flange. |
